My mission with young people is stated simply, in my own words: I'm giving the youth a voice.
Chairman Youth Sessions are built for ages 12 to 18. A session starts with a blank page — no beat provided, no words written for them — and ends on a stage. In between, the young people write their own material, build it into music, and perform it in front of people. The technology is in their hands: participants work in BandLab, the same platform my own catalog runs on, so the skills they build in one session are skills they keep. What they make is honest and real, because it is theirs.
This is not a side project. On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, I will sit down at Indigenous Roots Cultural Arts Center, 788 E 7th Street in Saint Paul, for a scheduled meeting with their partnership team to discuss bringing Chairman Youth Sessions to the young people they serve. Indigenous Roots does serious cultural work on the East Side, and a partnership there puts this program in front of exactly the youth it was built for.
Some people will ask what a youth workshop has to do with a political campaign. My answer has not changed: "Don't keep the run out of it. Everything is connected."
I declared on October 19, 2026 that I am a candidate for Chairman of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe in the 2028 election. I am a candidate — I hold no office, and I claim no title I have not earned at the ballot box. What I carry into that run is the same thing I carry into a classroom: "I want to prove that a rapper can be educated and run for office."
The connection is not a strategy. It is the story. The music teaches a young person that his voice has value. The workshop teaches her that the voice can be built into something. The candidacy says out loud what both of them imply: leadership can look like us, sound like us, and come from where we come from. A young person who has stood on a stage with her own words is not easily told she has nothing to say.
The meeting on November 4 is one conversation. The sessions are the work. The run is the long road. They are one road.
Make Some Noise. Make a Difference.
