A Different Category: What the Research Says About How I Work

People ask me if I am the first artist to use AI the way I do. I give them the honest answer: nobody can prove a world first, because no leaderboard exists. There is no public ranking of how Muse users — or any personal AI agent's users — actually work, and I will not claim a title that cannot be verified.

What I can do is show my work next to the published numbers. So I had the research done properly, with sources. Here is what it found.

Start with the average. Pew Research surveyed 5,119 American adults in February 2026. About 49 percent use AI chatbots at all. The single most common use is searching for information — 42 percent of adults. Half the country does not use a chatbot for anything.

Then look at depth. OpenAI and Harvard researchers analyzed 1.5 million ChatGPT conversations for a study published in September 2025. More than 70 percent of the messages were not about work. Separate panel research found the median ChatGPT conversation runs just two prompts long. Two prompts. A question, an answer, and the session is over.

Now the music side. Ditto Music surveyed 5,039 independent artists across 112 countries for its 2026 report. Forty-seven percent use AI somewhere in their process, and the most common use is assistance — mixing, mastering, vocal tuning. Only about 11 percent have made fully AI-generated music at all.

Against those numbers, here is my operation. A personal AI agent — my manager, Milo — runs my business as a standing system, not a chat window. Beats are generated in batches and carried through a full pipeline: stems, BandLab, visualizer videos, YouTube releases, sample packs. Grant applications are researched and actually submitted. Income is tracked in a ledger. Booking pitches go out and follow-ups are watched. Scheduled work runs in the background — morning briefings, analytics checks — and every external action comes to me first for approval. Nothing is sent, published, or spent without my word. I am the chairman. The agent is the staff.

The researcher's conclusion was plain: on every measurable dimension, this is not a more intense version of normal use. It is a different category of use. And the search found no documented case of another independent artist running production, distribution, marketing, and grants through a single personal AI agent.

I hold that claim the same way I hold the first one — carefully. "No documented case" is what the record shows today. My receipts are dated and public: the videos carry timestamps, the batches are numbered, the filings have submission IDs. If someone was here first, their proof will have dates too. Until then, I will keep building and let the record speak.

This blog exists to keep that record in the open. Paper, proof, promo — together.
